C. Town planning ideas are just not appropriate for a countryside setting.

A. We are offering options which we believe would work, it is up to the community through this process to decide what it wants.

Q. You seem to all be proposing a new town on the edge of Caldecott. Caldecott has been sustainable since the Domesday Book.

A. Our new proposals are merely responding to the suggestion of additional houses being made by other applicants and we believe that contemplating a bigger settlement with additional employment opportunities would enhance the sustainability of this new community.

Q. How are industrial units situated next to houses a good idea?

A. Town planners currently believe that this is the best way of creating sustainable communities - having employment opportunities next to housing to minimise the need to travel to work.

Q. Why are you here and not CRE themselves?

A. I am their planning adviser and my client (like all the other applicants tonight) have chosen to enlist professional help in engaging with this process.
