| Following public consultation, this site has now been withdrawn from the process by the land owner. | |||

Extracted from: NDP-0171 We also believe there is merit in the proposed development of St. George's Row (NDP-S005) and Sawyers Crescent (NDP-S006) but not the proposal for the development of Kimbolton Road (NDP-S009).

The main point to be considered here and one that has not been answered honestly is that if the village gives permission for the 4-6 houses in Kimbolton rd there would be nothing stopping either Keith or another developer who bought the land from applying to build further properties in the future on the basis of precedent I.e. The village allowed 4-6 houses so why can I not add some more? The village would then stop being a village and become a sprawling town - which I don't believe most people want to happen? Further large development would also have to include affordable housing which is clearly needed as people do need somewhere to live - but would be forced onto the village as part of this?

Q. What about your proposal to go across to the Raunds Road from the Kimbolton Road. Would you aim to join up with the new road you are talking about tonight? A. That's not my intention. I still think that road across the field to the Raunds Road would have been a good idea, but I understand that residents are against it and I am having second thoughts.

Q. If you put a new road in, you could come back in 20 years and back fill. A. That really isn't my intention, but I understand your concerns.

| C. While you are at it, why don't you put a by-pass in? You could go round the allotments and up to the Village Hall. You could build 30 houses on it to pay for it. | |||

C. We moved here to a quiet part of the Village for the peace and quiet and for the views. We don't mind the windmills. This would completely spoil that part of the Village. A. It was only an idea for 10-15 years time, nothing immediate.

C. The run down into the Village on the B645 is the best view we have. This proposal would spoil it. Yes we need to allow some growth, but there must be better places to put it. A. I can see where you are coming from that's why I have reduced the number of houses and offered the back entrance to it.

C. If you put a road in, there is nothing to stop you then asking for planning permission for the other side of it. A. I have no intention of doing that, but I can see where you are coming from.

Q. Where would the access for the other end of the road be, near the lay-by? C. Probably just beyond it. I wouldn't want to go too far up though, that would extend the Village.

Q. Would each house have direct access off the Kimbolton Road? A. No, they would use the new access behind Blacksmith's Cottage. They would front onto the Kimbolton Road but there would be no vehicle access from it.

C. I live in Disbrowe Court. The corner is very dangerous. A new access isn't such a bad idea. We have tried for a mirror, but have been told that there haven't been enough accidents to warrant a mirror. I am concerned though that this alternative access won't slow down the traffic coming down the hill into the Village, or stop them accelerating out of the Village. Plus the additional cars from 4-6 houses will add to the problems. Q. Are you proposing to close off the access in front of Blacksmith's Cottage? A. It's possible but it isn't up to me, that's a highways matter. I'm just offering an alternative option.

Q. Keith could you explain what you are now proposing again please? A. I've been reading what residents have been saying and have decided to reduce the size of the site I am proposing to around half what it was. This is with a view to putting 4-6 houses on the site to minimise the impact. I also thought it might be helpful for the Village to propose an access road around the back of Blacksmith's Cottage. This could be used for the new houses but also as a safer route onto the B645 for Disbrowe Court residents.
